About Us
Recombinant offers healthcare providers and academic medical centers proven data warehousing and clinical intelligence solutions to deliver higher quality outcomes, accelerate research discoveries and lower costs. Our team of industry veterans is focused on improving the flow of reliable data to power clinical reports and research applications in a secure, compliant environment.
Our core values of pragmatism, effective communication, and trust allow us to develop tailored clinical solutions and services to meet the specific needs of our clients.
Our Background
In 1999 members of the Recombinant team began working on the Research Patient Data Registry (RPDR) at Partners HealthCare,
one of the nation’s leading integrated healthcare systems. This work allowed us to take our data warehousing expertise and
apply it in the clinical research context. Over time, the RPDR served as the model for what is now the NIH’s i2b2 open source workbench,
which Recombinant continues to support.
In 2004 the Quality Data Management (QDM) team led by Dr. Jonathan Einbinder at Partners HealthCare engaged Recombinant to build a solution to meet the needs of enterprise reporting challenges across the delivery network. The resulting software included a data warehouse called the Quality Data Warehouse and a reporting system, called Report Central, designed to achieve the goals
of delivering consistent, high-quality patient care. The applications were built through collaboration between Partners Clinical and IT teams and Recombinant.
In December 2007 the groups entered into an agreement to make the custom software applications available for other hospitals and integrated delivery networks.
Through this agreement, Partners continues to use and expand the capabilities of the reporting systems while Recombinant has packaged the software and markets,
sells and supports the packaged offering at sites seeking to achieve similar patient care objectives.
Today, Recombinant offers an integrated suite of healthcare data warehousing and clinical intelligence products as well as consulting services to clinicians, researchers and CIOs.
