Recombinant offers a suite of
services to help healthcare organizations to get started with the i2b2
translational research software platform. Whether you need a planning
workshop or a full implementation of a data warehouse and the platform
we can help to accelerate your planning process and lower the risk to
implement i2b2. To get started please contact us. Services include the
following:
Strategic
Planning Workshop (1 day)
A one day workshop to discuss the issues that must be addressed to
launch a successful research data warehouse. The workshop is designed
for project managers and executives who want to understand the key
factors that will ensure success. The workshop can be an opportunity to
engage key executives and discuss matters of specific
concern. Topics include:
- Security and Privacy
- Budgeting
- Staffing
- Infrastructure
- Developing a timeline
Implementation
Planning Workshop (1 day)
A one day workshop for project managers and team leads that addresses
technical issues related to the implementation of the data warehouse.
This workshop addresses the technical concerns of IT and walks through
the architecture of the i2b2 data warehouse, its middleware server, and
workbench. Specific topics include:
- Architecture of the i2b2 Data
Warehouse
- Data model overview
- Metadata and query operation
- Design of Data Loading
Processes
- Implementation challenges
– testing and launch
Data
Governance Planning Workshop (1 day)
A one day workshop to help navigate the legal and organizational issues
around delivering data from clinical systems to researchers. The
workshop helps to establish the key success factors in reducing risk
through identification, implementing honest broker agents, and engaging
multiple stakeholders including the IRB, security, safety, and finance
departments. It also covers how to govern the stewardship of data and
prioritization procedures for inclusion and exclusion of data resource.
Specific topics include:
- Defining PHI categories
- Deidentification solutions
- Governance and stewardship of
data resources
- Data request workflows
- Usage auditing protocols
Implementation
Readiness Assessment (3 days)
The Implementation Readiness Assessment is designed to create a working
document to launch an implementation project. Conducted by our
Principals, we interview executive stakeholders and technical staff to
identify the key hurdles that must be overcome to implement an i2b2
Pilot. The Strategic Planning Workshop can be day one of the assessment
project. The final report is a high level plan with at least 3 data
sources and staffing requirements identified.
Prototype
Development (3-6 weeks)
The Prototype is a rapid development project that loads sample data for
2 or 3 data sources into an i2b2 database and maps the data to
ontologies to support key queries. The culmination is a demonstration
system for executives and decision makers with de-identified data.
Prototypes usually contain 3 to 20 million fact records.
Pilot
implementation project (3-6 months)
Recombinant's team is expert in data warehouse development and in
software implementations using the i2b2 framework. By working with our
team you can jump start your deployment and have a working system in
half the time of establishing an internal development project. Pilot
implementations vary depending upon the existing infrastructure at your
site but can include data integration, data cleansing, ontology
mapping, software extensions, system integration, project management,
documentaion, and deployment support.
Pilot
support (6 month or 1
year support agreements)
For teams implementing a pilot with their own resources for evaluation
of the software and evaluation for a small user community Recombinant
offers fixed price support for 6 month or one year time frames. Support
includes telephone and email support and a service level agreement to
resolve installation problems, software bugs, and questions about the
source code.
